Mr Mountain is showing we a lot of different languages on a piece of cardboard.
By Tian & Elmo

On Tuesday the 12th of September, after lunch, Mr. Mountain visited the Year Six classroom to talk to us about England. He and his family are moving to Australia and he has been teaching in Year 2.

Mr. Mountain comes from Liverpool in the UK and taught a Year Six class there.
Some facts he told us about the UK are:
* England has Rugby, but it is not as popular as here in Australia.
* Liverpool is the home city of the Titanic, which was named and partially built there.
* Liverpool's Main food dish is Scouse, or stew.
* Liverpool was part of a slave triangle (which includes the West Indies and America). The West Indies is just off America, in the Caribbean. People were imported from the West Indies to America as slaves.
*  The Beetles came from Liverpool.
* Liverpool is the only city that has two cathedrals.
* Liverpool is very multicultural
* Liverpool has two very famous soccer teams, Liverpool F.C and Everton

Listening to Mr. Mountain was very interesting.

Mr Mountain talking to Year 6.
By Jacob

On the 13th of September, Brookvale Public School's Year 6 had a teacher come into speak to us, his name was Mr. Mountain. Mr. Mountain comes all the way from England. He said to us that he lives in Liverpool. Liverpool is a port city just like Sydney.

Liverpool is always wet and rainy there is only about 2 months of sun in a year unlike Sydney where it’s mostly sunny. Liverpool is famous for its stew while Australia is famous for their kangaroos. Liverpool has no dangerous animals and Australia has lots. The population of the UK is 60 million and the population for Australia is 21 million - a big difference.

Mr. Mountain also brought in a board that had all the languages of the children that were in his class - the word was welcome.

Year 6 had a lot of fun listening to Mr. Mountain.
