On the 3rd Of September we had a lady from South Africa, her name
was Miss Peake. She talked to us about where she lived in South Africa.
The five most dangerous animals in South Africa are the lion, elephant,
buffalo, leopard, hippopotamus. She showed up pictures of
the five dangerous animals and showed us in the book where she lived
and how
they get around in cars just like here.
Then it was time for some questions for Miss Peake to answer. It was
fun
to have a teacher from South Africa at our school.

On Friday the third of September a woman called Miss Peake came to our
class to talk about to us about South Africa. Miss Peake was teaching
for three weeks in Year 1.
She talked to us about the big five
which are the most dangerous animals in South Africa. They are the
elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and the hippo. Then she showed us some
of the South
African money. Some of the notes had a pictures of animals. She told us
that South
Africa has roughly the same weather as Australia.
Miss Peake taught us how to speak some of the languages in different
parts of South
Africa. Some of the words were a bit tricky like in Zulu - 'cula' means
sing,
'xoxa' means chat, 'qoqa' means tidy up. In Afrikaans 'ons leer oor
suid Afrika vandag' means we learnt about South
Africa today. Then we asked some questions about South Africa and took
some photographs.
