On Tuesday the 21st of September some children from Brookvale and other schools in the Manly Warringah area went to the District Athletics Carnival. It was held the N.S.W. Sports Academy. Some people went with their parents or they went on the bus.
The first race was the 200m. I went in the 100m and I came 4th. Our team in the senior girls relay came first in their heat but in the finals they came last and Curl Curl North came first. The senior boys came second last in the relay.
When we got to school it was about 2:30pm and we were allowed to play until the home bell rang.
We had a great day.
On the 21st of September some children from Brookvale Public School went to the District Athletics Carnival to compete other schools like Harbord , Manly West, North Curl Curl, Mona Vale, Cromer and some other schools around the Manly Warringah. We went their by bus and some went by cars.
The first race was the 200m starting at 9 years up to 13 years. Then it was the relay then we had our break.
After we had our lunch they started the finals. The girls won the relay but they came last on the relay finals. The boys didn't make it but Inoke made it on the 200m finals. I came 4th in the 200m and 7th in the 100m.
It was good and tiring but I'm sure we had a lot of fun...
On Friday 17th some of the children from Brookvale represented our school at the District Field Events at the Narrabeen Academy of Sport. All the schools on the Northern Beaches were there too.
The Events were Long Jump, High Jump, Shot Put. The First events were High Jump and Long Jump. Sara came 2nd in High Jump and she broke the Record in Long Jump. Ms Meade and Miss Grey were down near the tracks and timing us and writing down what we came in the events.
On Tuesday the 21st we went to the Track Events at Narrabeen Academy of Sports.
The first events was 200 metres and all the age groups went in. After that we had the Junior relays and then we had the Senior relays on and the Senior Girls Relay team came first and it was Hoa, Farah, Sara and myself.
The other events were A and then the Final Heats and then the 800 metres.
Brookvale did very well in the events and I think they can do twice
as good next year as they did this year.
