On Wednesday the 4th, I went to the District Swimming Carnival along with others who made it. The District Carnival is for the best swimmers in each school to compete against other schools.
The first race on was the Medley but no one from our school went in it. Sara, Andrea and I watched some other races and then it was Andrea's race. Sara and I cheered really loud.
Then it was lunch time. We had a quick break. Then the finals started, Sara, Jarrod and Eliza made it in. Sara went really well and is going to the Regional in Backstroke. The Regional is a higher level in swimming and when you get a good time you are able to represent Northern Beaches Schools and your own school.
The relay was on next and the junior girls came 1st from the other end. The senior boys came 7th and the senior girls came last.
It was a fun and exciting day and we all enjoyed it.
On Wednesday the 4th of March, I went to District Swimming Carnival with the other people who made it in the Swimming Carnival. The District is the competition where every school came and swam.
The first race was the medley but no one in our school went in it. The next race it was 100 metre race and I was in it and I came second last. The next race was 50 metre, Elliott and I went in to that race and came the same place and that was 6th place.
We have lunch and I had hot chips.
After lunch we had the final race Sara, Jarrod and Eliza went in it. Sara came second in backstroke. Eliza came fourth in breaststroke. Jarrod came fifth in breaststroke. After that we had a relay the senior boy's relay came second last. The senior girl's relay came last. A relay swimming race is where you have a team of 2 swimmers at each end of the pool and they take it in tuerns to swim as fast as they can for 50 metres.
After that we go back to school and I had a great day.
