On Friday the 3rd of September our school had our Athletics Carnival for the track events. In the 100 metres I came 4th and in the 800 metres I came 1st. We have Houses and they are Malbooma, Baringa, Woomera and Eurobin, I'm in Eurobin and I'm the vice Captain of Eurobin. They are aboriginal words.
First we had the 200 metres then the 100 metres and the 800 metres. Their were 3 age groups the Juniors, the 11 Years and the 12 Years. I was in the 11 Years group. We also had the tug of war and sack races for the little kids as novelty events. The parents and teachers had some races as well.
In the houses Baringa won then Woomera came 2nd, Malbooma came 3rd
and Eurobin came last.
On Friday the 3rd of September our school had an Athletics Carnival and the whole school went, Kindergarten came later at 11:30am.
We have 4 different House colours Blue, Red, Green and Yellow. I am the Captain of the Green House.
The first race was the Junior 200m and the winner was James then it was the Senior 200m and Matt won (that's me).
Then it was the age races for the 100m.
After that it was the Kindergartens 50m race and Fahina won the race. Then it was the 800m. The Junior winner was Clinton, the 11 year winner was Jeremy, and the 12 year winner was Matt (me again).
Then we had the Junior and Senior Relay and Baringa won the Junior Relay and Woomera won the Senior Relay.
Then it was the novelty events Malbooma won the Tug-O-War and Captain
Ball. It was a fun and exciting day.
Last Friday on the 3rd of September the whole school went to Brookvale Oval and had a Athletics Carnival. We were divided according to our houses, Malbooma, Baringa, Woomera and Eurobin.
All the races were something to do with running. The first race was 200 metres, from ages 8-12 years, then 100 and so on. The last race was 800 metres then after that we had our lunch. We had sack races for young children, captain ball and tug of war.
Then it's time to go but before that they had announced the winner and the following houses were Eurobin 4th place, Malbooma 3rd with Woomera 2nd and the winner was Baringa the 1st with points of 280.
Well we all had a good time and it was a lot of fun!
