Year 6 is fun and it is also our last year at Primary School before going to High School. Being a Year 6 student is good because it gives us privileges of being leaders of the school and involved in many different things. Some of the Year 6's are responsible for things like Sport Equipment in the playground, the Student Research Team look after the computers in the IT Centre at lunchtimes. We are responsible for running the Weekly School Assembly, Peer Support & Peer Mediation Programs.
Every Thursday we help the environment by emptying all the Recycling Bins and sometimes help with moving stuff around the school.
This year the Year 6's have been doing a lot of fund raising for our school trip to Canberra. One of the days we had a Hot Dog Day and Mr Taylor let us wear mufti (we don't have to wear our uniforms). We made cakes for morning tea and for $3.00 all the kids got a piece of cake & a drink, a hot dog, a drink and an ice block for lunch. We have organised several disco nights as well.
We really enjoy taking care of the little kids.
Every year we have a Farewell to Year 6 Dinner. First of all the principal Mr Richard says a speech. When they graduate they get a Year 6 Book and also an award.
Year 5 decorates the hall for them and gets to join them eat the food. They have lots of food to eat including a huge farewell Year 6 cake.
Parents are welcome to come.
