Kyle Vander-Kyup was born on the 30th of May 1971, in Victoria. His favourite sport is hurdles. He was really interested in going to the Olympics and it was his dreams to be in the Olympics in Atlanta in 1996. He was World Junior bronze medalist in 1990. As a teenager, he won the Pacific School Games and the Australian All School Hurdles title. Kyle missed selection for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics but was chosen for the World Championships in Germany in 1993 and in Sweden in 1995. In 1994 he represented Australia at the Commonwealth Games in Canada. In 1995 he made an Australian record at Guthenburg World Championship running 110m hurdles in 13.29 seconds. He made the Atlanta Olympic final in the 1996. Kyle is 184cm in height, 82 kg in weight. He enjoys VW cars, shopping, designing, child care and coaching. He was awarded the magazine Cleo, Bachelor of the Year in 1998. |
