Barry Cable played Australian Rules and was
regarded as one of the most brilliant rovers of all time.
He played an amazing number of games: Perth 225, East Perth 42, North Melbourne
116 and 23 for Western Australia
Cable won three Sandover Medals in 1964, 1968 and 1973. He also won
four Simpson Medals from 1966-69, as well as a Tassie Medal in 1966.
In 1966 and 1969 he was selected for the All-Australian team.
Cable then had a successful coaching career with North Melbourne (1982-84),
and the Western Australian Team (1990-91).
He then followed with a new career, encouraging and promoting Aboriginal
sporting talent in the West.
