Clue 1:
A passport is not needed to travel within Australia, so I did not travel within NSW or interstate. A passport is needed to travel overseas, so I must be in another country.
Clue 2:
If a jet flies at 1000km per hour for 9 hours, the distance it flies is equal to the speed multiplied by the time 1000km/hr X 9hrs = 9000km
If you use a scaled map of the World and a compass (geometric), you can set the compass radius to 9000km and draw a circle centred on Sydney to locate possible destinations at all compass (direction) points
Clue 3:
If today where I am is yesterday in Sydney where I started from, then I must have crossed the International Date Line, and I must have travelled East.
Clue 4:
If it's summer here, and winter in Australia, then I must be in the Northern Hemisphere, north of the Equator, whilst it is winter in the Southern Hemishere, south of the Equator.
Clue 5:
Which country am I in? The country with the 'stars and stripes' on its flag is the United States of America. Which state am I in? If this state is about 9000km north east of Sydney, then I'm in Hawaii.
Clue 6:

What island am I on? The most populated island of Hawaii is Oahu.
