On Thursday, 13th August 1998 the Encyclopaedia Britannica balloon visited Brookvale P We cut out some balloon shapes and decorated them with crepe paper.

The Encyclopaedia Britannica Balloon came to our school. The balloon was tied down with ropes so it wouldn't fly away. Andrew and Kim from the balloon company blew up the balloon using a hot gas burner. The balloon was ready for lift off. Our Principal pulled names out of a hat to see who would go for a balloon ride.

I was really excited when my name was pulled out of the hat. As I climbed into the basket I felt a little bit scared, but very excited. Kim turned on the gas burner, it was very noisy, and we started to float up into the air.

the ropes broke and the balloon went flying the school was getting smaller and smaller until I could not see it any more. Then the balloon crashed into the ground.

The balloon had no vent but it had an anchor on it so we used it but just as we put it down the rope snapped and we went up up up up and away. We went far far far away over the ocean. We landed in England far away from Australia. Cold air went into the balloon and we went back up in 1 minute we traveled around the world and back. We landed in Australia and got out of the balloon before it took of in the air and then we went home and had a drink.

the rope broke and we flew away to another country called Jamaica . We were so hungry for food. The balloon pilot tried to fire the balloon up but there was no hope because there was no hope. It started to get dark so we slept. Next iIsneaked out of the balloon and went to the gas station and stole five bottles of gas. I fixed them onto the balloon and then we set of back to school and we just in time for class.

all the ropes came off and we flew off. On the way I saw my house. I saw my Grandparents. I saw a robbery and they shot us down. We fell and we got the crooks. We got a reward too.

the ropes broke and I flew away. Luckily there was a professional in the hot air balloon. I was not the only person, Narumi and Rosanna's brother Adrian were there too. I was really excited till it started. Then it started to rain and we saw everyone drifting away. We landed safely on top of Brookvale Oval.

The rope slipped off the tree and we were going high in the air. We went higher and higher,we went further and further and soon we in France. Next we were at the Eiffel Tower,then we were in outer space. We were 50km from the sun when suddenly a fire ball hit the balloon and we crashed back to Earth.

The ropes snapped so I flew higher in to the sky. We flew over our house and my mum went to get the police. While my mummy was doing that we pulled the red rope and we landed on a high mountain. We were calling "help,help."Suddenly a helicopter appeared with my mum in it. One by one we were pulled into the helicopter. Then finally I got back to earth.

When we were flying so high the rope just snapped and off we went. We were so high that l saw my house, my mother said "what are you doing up there"? I was shocked when l saw the tree. We smashed into the tree and luckily the firetruck came and rescued us. they get the ladder up first and we were saved.

The ropes came undone I flew over my house . My mum saw me she said Matilda what do you think you're doing? And I kept going. My mum started the car and went the same direction. After a while we stopped. I looked up we were tangled with another hot air balloon and I bet you don't know who was in it! my mum! and Kim from the balloon company!We untangled the ropes and I got in with my mum. And I said how did you catch up with us.

the rope and l went flying high in the sky. Luckily there was a man that knew how to get the balloon back down and he got it back down. When l went up in the balloon l saw lots of things including houses,trees,cars and beaches. They all looked really small.

a virus cut the ropes!We flew up into the air as fast as light. We landed on Mars but we could breathe. The first thing we saw was a big,big crater,nothing else. We down the crater and saw an alien!. It had about one hundred arms and legs ,it showed us the planet and different types of aliens. We had a good time eating funny food,but we had to go so the alien friend transported us back to earth and everyone cheered while we were heroes in the newspaper.
