On Wednesday the 19th of December, Brookvale Public School went on a school picnic at Dee Why Beach. At first Mr Taylor, Ms Guina and Mrs Sherman's class went to Dee Why Beach. We had to wait for the rest of the classes until we could swim in the pool.

The other classes came and Years 4, 5 and 6 went to the pools to swim for around half an hour then when we were walking back some people found some shark eggs. Some of us went down and looked for some too. We went for three swims at the pool, it was so fun I took heaps of pictures. Lani's mum bought us fish and chips and we fed the birds.

When we came back to school the Year 6's had a water fight, it was a draw and really funny. I had a great time!

Just arrived getting ready for a swim.

On the 19th of December, our school had a School Picnic. We went on the bus to go to Dee Why Pool.

First we had a little rest before we went swimming. Then we went to the rock pool. The water was very cold but children just went in. I waited till it got a bit warm. We took turns at the pool. Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 went first and then the other classes. While we were having our turn on the pool, another school came so we had to leave. We came back to the pool when they were going.

We had lots of fun even though it was a bit cold.

On the 20th of December 2001, the whole school went to Dee Why Beach. We got to the beach at around 10am in 2 busses.

When we got to the beach we all sat on the grass underneath the trees. Each of the classes took turns to swim, the first classes to swim were Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. We swam for about half an hour then the rest of the school got there turn. Lawson and Tony were selling drinks for $1 a can. Me and my friends asked one of the mums to get us some chips from one of the shops.

We came back to school at 2:30pm and Year 6 had a water fight and the rest of classes watched.
