5/6T planted scribbly gum trees for shade.
By Ivy Anne
On June the 5th, my class went near the school gate where the cars go in. We went there when the bell rang in the afternoon after lunch. There was a big pile of mulch. We had to go in groups. We had to get some green bins so we could put the mulch in there and put it next to the plants. We had turns on raking and doing other jobs.
When it was almost time to go home we packed up to go home and we finished doing it some other day.

On the 5th of June it was World Environment Day. Our school planted trees and shrubs and mulched them. We planted about two hundred plants and trees all together.
Each class had their own area to plant. Some classes planted shrubs along the front of the school such as lamandra and small bottle brushes.
We planted scribbly gum trees in the top part of the infants playground to make the playground more interesting and provide shade in summer.
I think helped the environment a lot and it was fun doing that.
