The boys spreading the sand.
By Sussan
On Saturday the 4th of November our school had a Working Bee. A Working Bee is when parents and kids come and help plant some trees and things like that to make our school a nicer place to be. I came with Danielle, her dad and her brothers.
Lots of parents and kids came to the Working Bee. The first thing they did was laying the grass. They also put in a watering system for the gardens and painted the boxes that the plants were put in because they looked really yucky.
We left because we felt sick and the fertilizer was really smelly.
Lots of fun in the new sandpit.

On Saturday the 4th of November, Brookvale Public School had a Working Bee. I came when it started with my dad, brothers and Sussan (my best friend).
If you don't know what a Working Bee is I will tell you. A Working Bee is where parents, teachers and kids get together to make our school a better place. We did lots of stuff like fill up the Infants sand pit, there was a big patch of dirt on our oval and we bought grass and carried it over to the dirt patch and laid it over the dirt and so far it is growing well.
We also put in a watering system so that the grass can grow faster. We swept off a lot of the leaves from the ground, planted flowers and trimmed trees. After that we painted the plant boxes to make them look nice.
I can't forget to mention the terrible smell of fertilizer! I wanted to throw up!
We left early because we felt really sick,
but the main point is that when we left we did something better for the
school.
