Brookvale Public School

On the 4th of October, Brookvale Public School's Peer Support leaders and
co-leaders went to an indoor rock climb. We went on the Brookvale Rock House.
Indoor rock climbing is where you climb on rocks inside a place with a safety rope.

First a lady who supervised us gave us each a harness. We put them on and then went inside where there was another school. The lady split us up into two
groups.

The first group were the ones who had been there before and the other group was those who hadn't been there. I was in that group with my friends. She told us how to climb up, how to go down and how to keep the climber safe.

Then we got to pick a partner. I was with Rosanna. We went to the hard ones and easy ones.  A couple of minutes after that I went with Jenny and Rosanna had a turn with Alexis.

After a while we all had to be with our leaders and co-leaders. I had to be with Marlene. We had turns and soon it was time to go.

I went down from the rock and had a drink while we were getting back to school. I had a great time in the Rock House and I hope I'll be back there soon.

This term 4/5/6 went to rock climbing with Mrs Neilson the person who in charge of Peer Support. It helps us to learn to co-operate with your co-leader or leader together for running our Peer support Groups.

Rock climbing is that you climb up a wall with some fake rocks on it and you have to wear a harness to protect yourself in case you fall. It is just around the corner in Brookvale so we should walk there.

As soon as we got there, we met a lady who was going to supervise us. We all went with our friends and then leaders or co-leaders. I went with Joy who came from Mrs Neilson's class.

We first went to find a spare spot where nobody was using it. We both had turns to climb and I only made it once. Mataele went to climb the ladder and she made it. Then I went with Jesmin who's my Peer Support leader.

When it was time for us to leave, some of us bought a drink from the store because we were thirsty. We walked back to school and we all had fun, I couldn't wait for next time!
