On Tuesday the 23rd Year 5 and 6 had Peer Support Training in the library. We learnt about feelings, warnings, rules, letting students feel comfortable, helping cheer people up and ignoring people who want attention at the wrong time.
We had to find out our partners by matching the cards with the compound words. We had to go in groups of 4 and had to act out feelings. We did some worksheets too.
In Peer Support we are not allowed to force people to answer questions. If we do they would never want to come to Peer Support again. By helping them out they would feel comfortable. We had to understand people's feelings. It was a lot of fun!

On the 23rd of May, Years 5 and 6 had Peer Support training in the Library.
We first played a game and my favourite game was the acting game. Miss Gray gave each group of children (4 in each group) a piece of paper and it had to act it out. Our group had Marlene, Seiana, Toa and her sister Mele. Then we did a few work sheets to do.
At Peer Support we learnt a lot about problems, warnings, rules, how to praise little children, ignoring little children that want attention and about feelings.
We also learnt a lot about including students that are very shy. You can start by letting her or him do something for the group. We also learnt how to talk to them outside and if that does not work then give them a warning and if that doesn't work then send them to the teacher. The thing I like about Peer Support is that Miss Gray teaches it and it is FUN!

On the 23rd of May we had Peer Support training in the I.T. Centre. We had to fill out papers and learn about how to help the people who are shy, confused, scared and want attention.
We went into groups to play a game, they have to guess what we were acting I was acting scared with Marlene, Mele and Toa. Then after we found out who our partners were we got these cards and on it were compound words you had to go around and see who had ending or beginning of your word.
Marlene and Danielle got to run their group by themselves, my partner was James. After that you had to sit next to them then we had to make our folders. It was a really fun day working with the Year Fives.
Miss Gray was the one that was teaching us about peer support.
I think she did a good job.
