Many interesting foods.
By Vanessa
On the 1st of September Brookvale Public School had an International Food Night and Concert. A multicultural food night is when everyone brings some traditional food from their country or from a different country. We lots of delicious food. We were also launching our internet cookbook.
Most of the kids wore their traditional clothes. There was food from China Tonga, Holland, Thailand, Nuie, Spain, Italy, Japan and even Chile! I brought in a Sweet Corn Pie, half of it was already gone by the time I got to it. I was amazed with all the food that was brought in, it was a mixture of delicious smells. The best thing that was there was the chocolate cake for dessert.
After eating we all went up to the hall where there was gong to be a concert. The Kindy Class sang two songs ‘Miss Mary Mac‘ ang ‘Ging Gang Gooli‘ they looked so cute! The dance group danced to ‘S Club 7,‘ they looked great in their bandanas. The Choir they sang ‘Joshua,‘ ‘G'day G'day‘ (a song we will sing at the Olympic Village to welcome athletes) and ‘Pokarekareana‘. The Leolelei Singers sang ‘The Same Blue Sky‘, ‘In a Field by a Wood‘ and after Nine o‘ Nine,‘ that was so funny when Jarrod started dancing.
That night I guess we all had a wonderful dinner. Hopefully we will have another food night. I cant wait!

On the 1st of September our school had an International Food Night, it started at 6:30pm until 8:30pm.
We had to dress up in traditional clothes that was from our country. I wore a china dress. First of all when we got there we had some lovely food from other countries that some people brought. There was noodles, chicken, vegetables, mud cake, pasta and some things that I didn't even know what it was but it was delicious! We ate at tables that were taken out of classrooms.
Kindy performing their song.
When we finished eating there was a concert. There were lots of great performances, the band performed first, then the Kindergartens song two songs ‘Ging Gang Gooli‘ and ‘Miss Mary Mack‘, they were very nice. After that 2/3M did a dance to ‘S Club 7‘, then the choir sang ‘Joshoa Fit the Battle of Jeriko‘, ‘Pokakareana‘ and ‘G'Day G'Day‘. Finally the Leolelei Singer sang, we sang ‘Same Big Sky‘, ‘Isa lei,‘ ‘Do lord‘, In a field by a Wood‘ and Glen sang ‘After 909‘, everyone danced to it! After that we all went home.
Both the food and concert was great, I really, really enjoyed it. I hope they will have one just like this one at high school.

On the 1st of September we were told to wear one of our traditional clothes because we had a concert at the hall. Then we went upstairs to get the stuff ready while some people went to Mrs. Mac Donagh to help her do the garden.
Then we went to the hall, we had the concert there. We invited the parents to the hall after the dinner. When we went to the hall to sing we went to the hall so we heard Mr. Richard say that the Choir is next. My dad said to me to go to the hall so we did then we went and sang there. The songs we sang there was Pokare kare ana and Joshua and G'day G'day that was the only song we sang.
It was a fun night for all the kids.
A Brooky family enjoying the concert.
