Multicultural Cookbook

Look at all the great food!

In Term 3 the school made a cookbook called 'The Global Gourmet'. The reason why we made a cook book was to put it on the internet. Mrs. Mary MacDonagh a teacher helped put the cookbook together.

All the children from our school got a note. The note was about the cookbook and asked to bring in a recipe. There were a lot of different recipes from many countries. The Year 5/6 children from Chris Taylor's class helped to type the recipes. Some of the recipes we couldn't read but our teacher and Mrs. Mac. could read it.

When they brought the recipe in they got to choose a prize from Mrs. Mac. The next day a lot of children brought their recipes in and they got to choose there prizes. Some people brought 2 recipes in so they could get another prize.

There were a lot of recipes that I would like to taste but I don't know how to make it. My favourite recipe was watermelon juice which was from Tonga. I've tasted it because I'm from Tonga and I like it very much.

I think it was a very good idea to make a cookbook so the we can taste new food. I had a look at the cookbook and I thought it was very neat.

The CookBook called 'The Global Gourmet' was launched at Brooky's International Food Night.

Lots of desserts to choose from.

Brookvale Public School did a multicultural cookbook on food from different countries like India, Chile, El Salvador and many other countries. The children wrote a recipe and Year Six typed it on the computer and then put it onto the home page as a book.

Most of the children who come from those counties got a recipe to take to school so the Year Six can type it up and put it on the Brooky Home Page.

Some of the recipes sounded great and yummy. I just wish I could try them. Maybe mum could look at the home page for a recipe that she likes.

Lots of interesting food on the International Food Night.

In Term 3 our school made a cookbook to go to the internet. Mrs. Mary Mac Donagh, a lady who came to our school to help and teach our class. She was the one that put the cookbook together. All the children from our school got notes about the cookbook, at the back of the page was where we put the recipe. There were lots recipes.

The children who brought the recipes got prizes from Mrs. Mac. A couple of people brought two recipes so they got two prizes. Most recipes came from different countries. Our class helped Mrs. Mac. We helped her by typing the recipes. When we finish typing the recipes, we told Mrs. Mac and we get another recipe.

There were so many recipes that I couldn't choose one but I heard a recipe called Pavlova so I picked it. It's an Australian dessert. I haven't tasted it before but It sounds like it's very tasty.

I think that it was a very wise and interesting to make a school cookbook. I had a look at the cookbook and I think it was nice and neat.
