During Book Week which started on the 14th of August a famous children‘s book illustrator called David Legge came to Brooky to talk to us about his career.
He started off by telling us how he started drawing and painting and where he got his ideas. He also drew us a vase on the board and we had to make another object out of that.
After that he showed us his original sketches from one of his books called Bamboozled. Then he showed how books are printed in different colour layers. We had time to ask him questions at the end.
After lunch some lucky people went with David Legge for a workshop.
Everyone looking listening!

On the 17th of August people from 3/4 to 5/6 were chosen to go to a David Legge workshop in the Art and Craft room in the afternoon.
First David Legg taught us how to bring a stick figures to life, draw races looking all sorts of ways and how to draw people doing all kinds of things.
He showed some pictures that he drew while we were drawing something about our story that we did at recess with Mr Taylor.
In the end David Legge said a speech and signed some autographs and drew a picture on the blackboard of a character from a book that he recently illustrated and published.
